QUICKFACT SHEET

The Fujifilm X-T200 is an all-around entry-level APS-C mirrorless camera that takes excellent stills images and shoots 4K video. Unlike higher-level X Series mirrorless cameras that use seperate analog-style Shutter Speed dial, Exposure Compensation dial and ISO dial, the X-T200 uses a conventional Mode dial. Even so, it is stylish designed and well built. The X-T200 also uses a conventional Bayer sensor instead of the X-Trans sensor used in higher-level X Series cameras. The X-T200 is basically the X-A7 with an electronic viewfinder.

It accepts interchangeable lenses using the X mount. In addition to the excellent high quality FUJINON XF lenses, a number of cheaper, smaller and lighter XC lenses are also available. Many of the lenses have optical image stabilization (OIS).

The X-T200 shoots excellent 24.2MP JPEG images with low noise at high ISOs or Ultra High Definition (UHD) 4K/30P videos. It’s interesting that it creates a 4K video by first recording a 6K video with no crop (6032×3392) and then downsampling it to 4K. A new HDR Movie mode combines multiple videos with varied exposure settings to increase dynamic range and make movies with more detail in shadows and highlights. A Digital Gymbal is available when recording in Full HD and uses an in-camera gyroscopic sensor to provide electronic image stabilization for smoother video capture. You can shoot slow motion video in Full HD at 120fps. Other video-based shooting functions include 4K Burst and 4K Multi Focus.

The X-T200 allows you to compose your shots using the high resolution 2.36M-dot OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF) or use the extra-large 3.5-inch 2.76M-dot Vari-angle Touchscreen LCD on the back of the camera. Vari-angle means that it folds out to the side and can be turned to face forward, up, back or down, allowing high-angle, low-angle, and selfies shots. The LCD is also touch-screen so you can tap a point on the screen to lock focus, and use touch gestures to swipe right and left when reviewing images.

The Hybrid AF (Auto Focus) system uses a total of 425 AF points to lock focus on your subject. For sharp portraits, Eye Detection AF locks focus on your subject’s eyes. The AF Working Range is EV -2–18.

Unique to Fujifilm are the Film Simulations that simulate the B&W and color effects of using a particular type of film. The X-T200 has 11 Film Simulations. Film Simulations can also be applied during video capture to add stylistic effects.

Other features include Continuous Shooting at 8fps, a built-in pop-up “Super Intelligent” flash (GN approx. 5m/16.4ft), a hot shoe to accept an external speedlite, RAW, PASM Shooting Modes, ±5 stops Exposure Compensation, Shutter Speed from 1/32000 sec. to 30 sec. (flash-sync shutter speed of 1/180 sec.), Bulb (60 min), 20 Advanced Filters (including ‘Fog remove,’ ‘HDR Art,’ and ‘Clarity’), and Scene Modes (including ‘Bright mode’ and ‘Light Trail’).

There are a number of connectivity features that make the X-T200 practical for those who post to social media sites. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth mean that you can store GPS information, do remote Live View shooting and easily transfer images to your smart phone or tablet.

The X-T200 is available in Silver, Dark Silver, and Champagne.
