Treasure Hunt Yields Cache of Cameras on Remote Yukon Glacier, 85 Years After Mountaineer Left Them Behind

An expedition set out to find a decades-old cache of cameras legendary mountaineer Bradford Washburn left behind on the Walsh Glacier in Yukon’s Kluane National Park. It took six days of unsuccessful searching and, finally on the last day, an hour before the team left, they recovered a portion of Washburn’s cherished aerial F-8 camera as well as two motion picture cameras — plus the full array of mountain-climbing gear from what they were using in the 1930s.
