Sigma Mount Conversion Service: So You Can Change Camera Systems Without Replacing Your Sigma Lenses

Gentec International today announced the launch of Sigma’s new Mount Conversion Service which allows photographers who invest in Sigma’s premium lens system to change the mount of their Sigma lenses should they decide to change camera systems.

Sigma’s Mount Conversion Service will be available starting Sept 2, 2013. A fee ($120 to $315, depending upon the lens) will be charged for each conversion. Only lenses from Sigma’s new Art, Contemporary, and Sports lines are eligible; the service is not available for teleconverters, the USB Dock, or other lens accessories.

TORONTO, ON., August 20, 2013 – Gentec International announces the launch of Sigma’s new Mount Conversion Service, a unique service that gives photographers the ability to change the mount of their Sigma lenses.

The Mount Conversion Service is available for any lens from Sigma’s three new product lines (Art, Contemporary, and Sports). The service enables photographers to convert the mount of their current lenses to any other mount offered by Sigma for those lenses. With the new service, Sigma is making it possible to invest in a premium lens system that allows photographers to change camera systems, without the need to replace their lenses.

Mount conversions will be done at Sigma’s Aizu factory in Japan to ensure the highest level of quality control. All relevant parts will be changed to allow the lens to be used with the new camera system, without compromising performance and with no loss of functionality. After the mount has been changed, each lens will undergo the same rigourous testing as all of Sigma’s new lenses before it leaves the factory. Photographers can rest assured that the service will not affect the industry-leading, seven-year Canadian warranty included with all Sigma lenses purchased from an authorized Canadian Sigma retailer.
