Olympus today announces its Spring 2009 compact digital camera line-up. Leading the nine new models is the SP-590 UZ with 12MP resolution, 26x optical wide-angle ultra zoom (26-676mm equiv.), image stabilization, a large 2.7-in. LCD, Intelligent Auto, Face Detection & Smile Shot, Hot Shoe & Wireless Flash Compatibility, Ultra Hi-Speed Seq. Shooting with Pre-Capture, and HD output.
Olympus SP-590 UZ
The Stylus 9000 features 12MP resolution, 10x wide-angle optical ultra zoom (28-280mm equiv.), image stabilization, a large 2.7-in. LCD, Intelligent Auto, Face Detection, In-Camera Panorama, Pre-Capture, and Perfect Fix.
Olympus Stylus 7000
The Stylus 7000 features 12MP resolution, 7x optical zoom (37-260mm equiv.), image stabilization, an extra large 3.0-in. LCD, Intelligent Auto, Face Detection & Smile Shot, In-Camera Panorama, Pre-Capture, and HD Output.
The Stylus TOUGH 8000 continues the previously named SW tradition of being uniquely Shockproof (6.6 ft.), Waterproof (33 ft.), freezeproof (-10°C/14°F) and crushproof (220 lbf.) in an ultra compact body with 12MP resolution, 3.6x wide-angle optical zoom (28-102mm equiv.), Image Stabilization, a large 2.7-in. LCD and Tap Control.
The Stylus TOUGH 6000 is a lighter version of the TOUGH 8000 but without the crushproof capability. Ity is however still Shockproof (5 ft.), Waterproof (10 ft.) and Freezeproof (-10°C/14°F), with 10MP resolution, 3.6x wide-angle optical zoom (28-102mm equiv.), Image Stabilization, a large 2.7-in. LCD and Tap Control.
The Stylus 550WP is waterproof (10 ft.) and features 10MP resolution, 3x optical zoom (38-114mm equiv.), a large 2.5-in. LCD, Intelligent Auto, Face Detection and Perfect Shot Preview.
Olympus FE-5010
For beginners and first-time users, the FE-5010 features 12MP resolution, 5x optical zoom, a large 2.7-in. LCD, Intelligent Auto and Face Detection in a super-slim body. The FE-3010 features 12MP resolution, 3x optical zoom, a large 2.7-in. LCD, Intelligent Auto and Face Detection in a super-slim all-metal body. The FE-3000 features 10MP resolution, 3x optical zoom, a large 2.7-in. LCD, Intelligent Auto and Face Detection in a super-slim body.
All Olympus compact digital cameras in the Spring 2009 line-up offer Intelligent Auto for quick, hassle-free shooting.
New features for 2009:
- Beauty Mode – Soften shadows and smooth wrinkles or blemishes on the subject right in the camera. Beauty Mode can be turned ON before capture; the effects are applied in real-time. Images are captured at a reduced resolution.
- Beauty Fix – Choose “Clear Skin” or “Dramatic Eye” effects and apply them to your subject after the shot has been taken.
- Olympus Recommended Button ‘OR’ – The new “OR” button makes it easy to activate unique features, including In-Camera Panorama, Shadow Adjustment Technology, and Perfect Shot Preview.
- High Definition Output – Enjoy crisp, clear image reproduction on your HD TV from select cameras. Cable not included.
