OM System has released the OM-5II, an upgrade of the popular 2022 OM-5. It retains the same 20MP sensor, 2.36M-dots (0.68x equiv.) EVF, 3.0-in. 1.04M-dots vari-angle touch LCD, IP53 industry-rated weather proofing, 6.5EV IBIS, 6fps (mechanical) and 10fps (electronic) continuous shooting with continuous AF or up to 30fps (electronic) with fixed AF, 121-point Face/Eye AF detection, Live ND (4 stops), and C4K/24P video.
It also features just enough improvements to tempt the OM-5 owner to upgrade:
- USB-C for in-camera charging
- Slightly larger grip
- Menu from OM-1
- CP (Computational Photography) button
- OM Cinema 1 & 2 color modes
- Video tally light
- Night Vision mode
- Handheld Assist mode
Notably absent is human, animal and vehicle subject detection. It also still allows only UHS-I SD card and video is 8-bit. So, it’s not for specialized birding or sports photography.
