The following video presents OLYMPUS OM-D E-M10 Mark III – Be Creative with Art Filters:
Olympus explains the following two new features of the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III camera:
“Bleach Bypass” – New Art Filter
The OM-D E-M10 Mark III introduces a new Art Filter, called Bleach Bypass. As its name indicates, it simulates the effect of the bleach bypass technique used when developing color film. It provides a special, somewhat mysterious atmosphere to street scenes (as shown in the photo below), and boosts metallic textures on machines and vehicles.
“Light Trails” – Easy Live Composite
Live Composite is a popular OM-D feature that captures light trails, but so far it required adjustments of settings through the menu which could be considered to be slightly troublesome for those who wish to keep their camera operations to a minimum. On the OM-D E-M10 Mark III, simplified forms of Live Composite can be accessed easily from the Scene (SCN) and Advanced Photo (AP) modes on the mode dial. Once in Scene mode, touch the Nightscapes box to find “Light Trails” which is actually a form of Live Composite which needs no adjustments whatsoever — the camera will automatically set to optimal settings, so just shoot. If you wish to adjust exposure compensation or other basic camera settings while capturing light trails, set to Advanced Photo mode and select Live Composite. Press the OK button to pull up the basic settings on the screen. And if you want to be in full control and customize your Live Composite settings from the menu, use the classic Live Composite, found at the end of the shutter speed spectrum when in Manual mode.
