Olympus Will Support Areas Affected by the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquakes in Japan

Magnitude 7.3 earthquake hits southern Japan. A powerful magnitude 7.3 earthquake has struck southern Japan, barely 24 hours aftera smaller quake hit the same region and killed at least 10 people. The quake shook the Kumamoto region at 1:25 a.m. local time Saturday. At least six people were killed by the second quake, police said, bringing the death toll to 16 from the two quakes….

To provide aid and support for areas affected by the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes, Olympus will donate 20 million Japanese yen (182,332.0000 US Dollar at the current exchange rate).

Support for Areas Affected by the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquakes

We would like to offer our sincerest sympathies to those affected by the recent earthquakes in the Kumamoto region of southern Japan.

The Olympus Group will donate 20 million Japanese yen via the Japanese Red Cross Society to help provide relief for those who have been affected by the earthquakes, and to help with reconstruction of the region. This sum includes staff donations.

We pray that the recovery process in the affected areas will proceed as swiftly as possible.
