It all started the end of March 1890 when renowned German optics manufacturer Carl Zeiss produced its first
camera lenses that have eventually “helped write photographic history.”
Carl Zeiss lenses have been used to shoot the 1969 moon landing, as well as numerous Oscar-acclaimed films, such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Slumdog Millionaire. Michael Ballhaus, one of Germany’s best-known cameramen, has been working exclusively with ZEISS lenses for years because “Carl Zeiss’ latest cameras and lenses allow me to see on screen exactly what the eye sees.”
Today, you will see Carl Zeiss branded lenses on Sony digital cameras and Nokia mobile camera phones.
