QUICKFACT SHEET

The Canon EOS M200 is a compact all-around entry-level APS-C mirrorless camera. It comes with user-friendly features to assist new photographers in getting the best results with the camera. It supports Vertical Video for vlogging and has a Smart Portrait mode for easy selfies.

It accepts interchangeable lenses using the EF-M mount. Current Canon DSLR owners can attach their existing EF and EF-S lenses using an appropriate adapter.

It shoots stills at 24.1MP and Ultra High Definition (UHD) videos at 4K/24p (1.6x crop) with stereo sound. You can also shoot slow motion video in Full HD at 60fps or in HD at 120fps. You can also shoot 4K Time Lapse. If you are into vlogging, the EOS M200 supports Vertical Video shooting.

It does not have a viewfinder so you compose your shots using the 3.0-inch 1.04M-dot Tilt Touchscreen LCD on the back of the camera. The LCD flips up about 180° to face forward and tilts down 45°. The LCD is also touch-screen so you can tap a point on the screen to lock focus, and use touch gestures to zoom or swipe right and left when reviewing images.

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF (Auto Focus) system uses a total of 143 AF points to lock focus on your subject. For sharp portraits, Eye Detection AF locks focus on your subject’s eyes. The AF Working Range is EV -4–18, which means it can better lock focus in low-light situations.

Other features include Continuous Shooting at 6.1fps, a built-in pop-up flash (GN approx. 5m/16.4ft), RAW, PASM Shooting Modes, ±3 stops Exposure Compensation, Shutter Speed from 1/4000 sec. to 30 sec. (flash-sync shutter speed of 1/200 sec.), Creative Assist, Feature Assistant, Creative Filters, Visual Guide, and Silent Shooting.

There are a number of connectivity features that make the M200 practical for those who post to social media sites. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth mean that you can store GPS information, do remote Live View shooting and easily transfer images to your smart phone or tablet (using the EOS Utility and Camera Connect app). You can even set up your camera to automatically transfer your photos and videos to your computer after each shot using the Image Transfer Utility 2 app.
