Canon Announces EOS R6 V Full-Frame and RF20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ Zoom Lens for Content Creators

Canon has released the EOS R6 V full-frame mirrorless camera together with the RF20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ zoom lens. The EOS R6 V is a video-first camera in the EOS V-series lineup specifically targeted to content creators and advanced videographers. (The other two cameras in the V-series lineup are the V1 and the EOS R50 V.)

The EOS R6 V is designed for handheld and gimbal shooting, and features a 32.5MP full-frame CMOS sensor able to record 7K 60p RAW, 7K 30p Open Gate, 4K 60p oversampled, and uncropped 4K 120p. Other video-first features include Advanced AF tracking optimized for video shooting, smooth autofocus performance for video, in-body image stabilization for handheld shooting, internal cooling fan, vertical shooting support with dedicated vertical tripod mount, an integrated zoom lever, and a tally lamp.

To accompany the EOS R6 V, a new wide-angle zoom lens, the RF20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ, is Canon’s first L-series lens to feature built-in power zoom, with the ability to switch between manual and power zoom using the zoom ring. The lens features a constant f/4 aperture across the zoom range, internal optical zoom design (for a balanced center of gravity essential for gimbal use), and the ability to remotely power zoom the lens using the Canon Camera Connect app or through the use of Canon wireless Bluetooth-enabled remotes such as BR-E2 and BR-E1.
