OLYMPUS LAUNCHES NEW MULTIMEDIA ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN FOR THE PEN® E-PM2 CAMERA

Olympus Demonstrates How to Capture Your Stories with the PEN

CENTER VALLEY, Pa., November 19, 2012 – The new Olympus Imaging America Inc. integrated multimedia campaign, featuring television and online advertising, demonstrates that the new Olympus PEN® E-PM2 camera is incredibly easy to use to capture and share amazing images and videos.

Many of today’s consumers want a camera with the professional quality of a digital single-lens-reflex (DSLR) and high-definition (HD) video, but also want a compact body that’s as easy to use as a point-and-shoot with the ability to take it anywhere. Consumers don’t want to miss great images and moments while managing a complicated camera. The new “Capture Your Stories” campaign demonstrates how easy it is to capture great images on the go with the new Olympus PEN, simply by touching the camera’s LCD screen.

Olympus’ new integrated advertising campaign continues to embrace storytelling through photos and video and further positions Olympus as the human brand among the digital imaging competition. The visuals are truly lovable and our platform for the campaign reinforces the strong product features. Touch to focus fast. Touch to capture fast. All to share your stories fast.

Stephanie Sherry, Director, Marketing Communications at Olympus said, “This is a fun campaign that demonstrates how consumers can use the new Olympus PEN E-PM2 camera to focus, capture and share just by touching the back of the screen. It’s the camera that keeps up with the speed of life today. Olympus has a history of manufacturing high quality optics and this campaign demonstrates how technology can be fun, easy, creative and social without sacrificing quality.”

Thanks to touch screen technology, and an image sensor typically found in traditional Olympus® DSLR cameras, the PEN delivers simplicity at anyone’s fingertips. Add the flexibility of high-quality interchangeable lenses, the convenience of a bundled flash, in-camera creative features and technology designed to produce outstanding images effortlessly, and the PEN is the consumer-friendly, total multimedia package.

Michael Ancevic, Managing Partner and Chief Creative Officer of The Fantastical, the agency that created the campaign with Olympus said, “Life doesn’t stop for you to adjust your camera. This campaign demonstrates how user-friendly the new Olympus PEN really is. It’s all about getting great images and sharing them on the fly. We live in a visual, social, instant gratification world today. This campaign demonstrates how easy it is to focus, shoot and share photos with the new Olympus PEN. It’s the perfect camera for the real world.”

The PEN is a camera designed for those who want to step up to better images without sacrificing ease of use, and Olympus is committed to giving consumers the amazing easy-to-use technology to capture and share things they never thought possible.
