Mississauga, ON, July 25, 2012 – Fujifilm is proud to announce the launch of the FinePix F800EXR, a compact digital camera with a Fujinon 20x optical zoom lens (25-500mm*1) and 16 megapixel BSI (Back Side Illuminated) EXR CMOS sensor. The FinePix F800EXR offers the ability to transfer high quality images directly to smartphones and tablets*2, allowing users to post photos wirelessly to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social networking sites quickly. In addition, the FinePix F800EXR features a new Advanced Filter that lets users get even more creative with their photography.

“Sharing pictures has always been one of the most important things that people like to do with their images, and the new F800EXR allows everyone to do just that with its Wireless Image Transfer function,” says Greg Poole, VP Imaging and Recording Media Products. “With sharing this easy, consumers now have a better performing, full-featured compact digital camera that delivers the beautiful images that smartphones just can’t produce.”

Share special moments with quick, easy wireless image transfer to social media networks
Fujifilm’s innovative Wireless Image Transfer function allows users to connect their smartphone or tablet* to the F800EXR and upload high-quality images to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter in seconds.

Connecting your FinePix F800EXR to any Android™ smartphone or tablet, or the iPhone™ or iPad™, is easy – all users have to do is download the free application “FUJIFILM Photo Receiver” to their device, then follow the simple instructions to get connected. Then by downloading the free “FUJIFILM Camera Application,” the FinePix F800EXR is also able to record the user’s current location data provided by the smartphone or tablet’s location data (latitude and longitude), and display it on the F800EXR’s LCD. Users can also send their images to their smartphone or tablet to display on a map where images were shot. With a database of approximately 1 million landmarks worldwide, users can enjoy various functions, such as Landmark Navigator which displays the distance to a nearby landmark in the direction the camera is faced towards, and Photo Navigation which displays the distance from the photographer’s present location to the place where a tagged photo was taken.

EXR CMOS and Long zoom – Great pictures made easy
With its advanced Fujinon 20x wide angle optical zoom lens (25-500mm equivalent*1), the FinePix F800EXR long zoom digital camera combines its 20x optical zoom with a 2x Intelligent Digital Zoom offering up to 40x zoom at full resolution. This technology offers optimum image processing to counteract the image degradation that occurs when digital zooms are used. Users can capture extreme close-ups or shoot distant objects.

The F800EXR’s 16 megapixel BSI EXR CMOS sensor features Fujifilm’s proprietary EXR technology*3. The intelligent EXR AUTO function automatically selects the optimum shooting mode from 103 shooting patterns, making it easy for the user to capture excellent images in any setting with a minimum of fuss.

Built-in Photographic Filters offer creative expression
The six (6) new Advanced Filter effects on the FinePix F800EXR allow the user to add creative expression with artistic special effects. Compose photos and view the filters’ special effects on the LCD screen.

Partial Color: Retains selected original colour and changes other areas to black-and-white. Colours can be selected from red, yellow, green, blue, orange and purple.

Pop color: Emphasizes contrast and colour saturation.

Toy camera: Create a vignetting effect similar to photos taken with toy cameras (nostalgic effect).

High-key: Emphasizes brightness and reduces contrast for faded tone reproduction.

Dynamic Tone: Create dramatic expression by dynamically modulating tone reproduction.

Scene Recognition for Movie Recording

Automatically optimizing settings for a variety of shooting conditions, movie scene recognition combines with Face Tracking Auto Focus to give the user crisp, colourful HD movies with impressive stereo sound.

Impressive Speed
With auto focus speeds as fast as 0.16seconds, the F800EXR delivers outstanding high speed shooting capabilities, up to 8 frames per second (fps) at full resolution (11fps max speed at medium resolution), and full HD movie capture at 1080p (30fps) in stereo.
