We always say that a good sturdy tripod is the best accessory a landscape photographer can buy. If you get one, and can afford it, get a carbon-fiber one, which is sturdy and light. Otherwise, sturdy = heavy. And heavy = dangerous, not just for your back but, as a possible murder weapon.

The tripod finally entered the world of crime as a weapon when a woman used it to club her sister to death.
