Photoxels

Total Solar Eclipse

It started in Tahiti turning crowds of football-mad Polynesians from watching the World Cup final on their TV screens to look up at the sky instead. The total solar eclipse drew an 11,000 Km (6,800 mile) arc over the Pacific on Sunday. In a total solar eclipse, the Moon travels in front of the Sun and blots out the sunlight, plunging the affected areas into darkness.
