The Samsung WB650 / HZ35W is a “High Zoom” camera and features 12MP (1/2.3-in. CCD), 15x ultra wide-angle optical zoom (24-360mm equiv.), built-in optical image stabilization, and a large 7.5 cm (3.0-in.) high resolution (920k-dot) AMOLED display screen, and built-in GPS.

The 15x ultra wide-angle optical zoom is ideal for capturing sweeping landscapes, wide interior shots, large family gathering shots as well as telephoto shots such as distant sports, wildlife action, and school events. Optical Image Stabilization helps reduce camera shake and avoid blurred photos at the long zoom settings or in challenging low lighting conditions.

The AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) screen is supposed to be better than the conventional LCD screen, providing easier viewing in bright sunshine and at acute viewing angles.

The built-in GPS and Geo-tagging capability pinpoints your exact location and saves it with every picture. The camera will display the name of the city, state, and country, and the visual map-view feature can check and mark the photos’ location on a map (you’ll need to have downloaded the maps on your external memory card previously) right on the screen.

Beginning amateur photographers will feel comfortable with the Smart AUTO and easy-to-use Scene Modes. More advanced photographers will appreciate the full exposure flexibility provided by the PASM (Program AE, Aperture-Priority AE, Shutter-Priority AE, Manual) modes. Dial in an exposure compensation to compensate for scenes that are too bright or too dark. Custom White Balance allows you to obtain the correct colors under artificial lighting situations.

Smart Filter, Miniature filter, Vignetting filter and Fish-eye filter let you add artistic photo effects.

You can shoot HD movie 1280×720 pixels at 30fps with stereo sound. A direct movie button allows immediate shooting and you can use the optical zoom during shooting.
