Osaka, Japan – Panasonic Corporation won the highest acclaim, securing the “Best of the Best Award” at the “Japan Branding Awards 2018” organized by Interbrand Japan (located in Shibuya, Japan, represented by President and CEO Masahito Namiki) and the corresponding awards ceremony was held on November 22, 2018.

In order to support and applaud a brand’s strategic efforts, Interbrand Japan launched the Japan Branding Awards in 2018, which evaluates businesses, services, and products of companies and organizations and provides opportunities to introduce these efforts widely.

Panasonic’s efforts to utilize its business brands have been a part of its core business brand strategy since 2015 and for these efforts and for the reasons listed below, Panasonic has been awarded the above mentioned award.

Evaluation comments

To establish an integrated strategic and experiential platform, Panasonic examined the challenges at hand and shifted away from a master brand strategy towards a multiple brand strategy. Panasonic has been highly praised for the rapidity with which it transformed its brand approach, implemented new business brands, and for the strategy it put in place to make its 3 focal businesses more visible and to enhance recognition and understanding for these businesses.
Moreover, to provide experiences, Panasonic took a customer-centric approach and formulated rules for expressing the brand that has been applied across all business brands as well as at various consumer touchpoints such as exhibitions and showrooms to ensure brand value consistency.
