Future of UI Points to Minority Report Interface

You’d forgive us if we digress from the usual fare of digital cameras to report on John Underkoffler, his company Oblong and their latest work on user interface. John Underkoffler was technical advisor on the film Minority Report where Tom Cruise’s character manipulated objects simply by waving his arms in the air (“gesture i/o”). His company is working on a real-life system, called g-speak, to bring all this science fiction to reality.
