Bill Dance, America’s best known fisherman, may now be seen on two nationally aired shows: Bill Dance Outdoors and Bill Dance Saltwater. He planned to become a doctor but witnessed a horrific motorcycle crash that changed his lifeand his career plans. He always loved to fish and began entering fishing competions—and winning.

A lure manufacturer became his sponsor and encouraged him to start a TV show to help promote the product. Bill Dance Outdoors premiered on a Memphis ABC affiliate in 1968 and has been growing in popularity ever since. Today the show is televised nationwide and its host has achieved celebrity status among the nation’s 45 million anglers.
