Olympus E-P1 Review @ Imaging Resource

Fri September 25, 2009

Olympus E-P1

Olympus E-P1

The Olympus E-P1 with the 17mm lens hits the right spots for this photographer.

Imaging Resource has published their review of the Olympus E-P1 [Specs], the world’s smallest Interchangeable Lens System camera with 12.3MP resolution (on a 17.3 x 13.0 mm High Speed Live MOS Sensor), Sensor-shift Image Stabilization, Dust Reduction, an extra large 3.0-in. LCD (230K dots), HD Movie (1280×720 @ 30fps) with stereo sound, Intelligent AUTO (auto scene recognition), Scene Modes, Face Detection, Shadow Adjustment Technology, PASM modes, Shutter speed range of 60 – 1/4000 sec. plus Bulb (up to 30 min.), Continuous Shooting at 3fps, RAW file format, Digital Level, MF Assist, a hot shoe, Live View Autofocus system with real time focus, Multiple Exposure, six built-in Art Filters and ePortrait. In a welcomed change for an Olympus digital camera, the E-P1 uses the Secure Digital (SD / SDHC) memory cards.

Editor’s note: This Imaging Resource review of the Olympus E-P1 warrants a careful reading because the reviewer found an AF issue with the E-P1 and a major issue with the 14-42mm kit lens. He still loves the camera, but you have to make your own decision taking all the info (good and bad) into consideration.

Epson V600 Scanner Review @ Imaging Resource

Fri September 25, 2009

Imaging Resource has published their review of the Epson Perfection v600 Photo Color Scanner [QuickPrice Check], a “moderately priced LED scanner to handle slides, negatives and prints.” If you have film and slides lying around, want them scanned and digitized, but don’t want to buy an expensive pro model, the Epson V600 scanner might just fit the bill.

Viral Marketing for Photographers

Fri September 25, 2009

“Customer Service” is a dirty word for most businesses. Sometimes, the blame lies at the very top and permeates down the whole organization; at other times, it is just one cog in the wheel that is not well oiled.

Sean Cayton gives photographers three simple “golden” rules that will ensure that customers spread their names and businesses by word of mouth in “Three Rules for Earning Good Word of Mouth for Your Photography Business.”
