DigitalCameraReview has posted their review of the Canon PowerShot SX120 IS [Specs], a compact ultra zoom digital camera with 10MP resolution (1/2.5-in. CCD), 10x optical zoom (36-360mm equiv.), optical image stabilization, 3.0-in. LCD (230K dots), PASM modes, Smart AUTO, Intelligent Contrast Detection, Face Detection AF/AE/FE/WB, Face Select and Track, and Movie 640×480 @ 30fps.

The Sony World Photography Awards is now showing in Toronto from October 6 to 20 on its global tour. In 2009, Canadian photographer Julian Abram Wainwright won a SWPA and his work will be on display along with the other winning images.

The event is held at the Edward Day Gallery downtown. It’s open to the public and admission is free!

Forget about the M9, I want THIS camera! Mounted under the belly of a Tornado GR4, the “Raptor” (Reconnaissance Airborne Pod for Tornado) can zoom into details 75 miles away. For those who like to take low light shots, it contains a dual-band sensor using both visible light and infrared, so can be used both day and night. The infrared sensor offers superior haze-penetration in poor weather conditions, while the night time imagery can reveal details such as the fuel levels in storage tanks on the ground.

The ground station that receives the images are a bit big, though. Improvement suggestion is make it pocketable.
