Today, Samsung Electronics America is excited to announce that they’re bringing the highly successful #DitchTheDSLR movement to Seattle at the inaugural PIX Photo Expo and Conference hosted by DPReview and Amazon on Wednesday, October 7 starting 11 a.m. and lasting until supplies run out. Samsung will offer PIX show attendees the chance to receive the award-winning Samsung NX500 camera (valued at $799) by simply trading in their DSLRs*. This program has previously seen nearly 1,000 DSLRs traded in at events in New York and Los Angeles.

Show attendees can visit the Samsung booth and trade in a fully operational Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera including battery, power supply and lens and walk away with the cutting-edge NX500, while supplies last. While in the booth, attendees can see and experience the entire Samsung NX system, including the pro-focused NX1 and S-Lens collection, the ever-portable NX Mini and GALAXY Camera 2, as well as a variety of accessories. Lastly, PIX attendees will have the opportunity to put their new NX500 to the test and participate in local photo walks led by Imageloggers Ibarionex Perello and Rinzi Ruiz alongside DPReview editors. They can then further expand their knowledge of the NX system’s capabilities by attending panels and demonstrations led by Imageloggers Matt Kumasaka, Laura Winslow and Wasim Muklashy.

2. Ditch Day
The Promotion will commence at 10:00am PST on October 7, 2015 at PIX, Seattle Center, Seattle Washington (the “Promotion Location”) and shall last until close at 2:00pm PST on October 7, 2015 (the “Promotion Period”) or until such time as Promoter shall choose to end the Promotion in its sole discretion….

The first three hundred (300) participants who trade in their existing Qualifying Digital Single Lens Reflex Camera (“DSLR”) (as defined below), will receive a Samsung NX500 Camera/approximate retail value (“ARV”) $799.99 (“Trade Up Reward”) while supplies last. 
The Promoter may revise these terms and conditions at any time and may suspend or terminate the Promotion at any time.

5. Trade In Criteria
All Items submitted for trade-in under this Promotion is subject to acceptance by the Promoter in its sole discretion.

Items that the Promoter accepts for trade-in under this Promotion will be paid for with the Trade Up Reward. Participants will not be entitled to any other form of payment or exchange for items submitted for trade-in under this Promotion….

Qualifying DSLR Cameras: For your existing DSLR camera to qualify for the Trade Up Reward, it must be a DSLR camera, including the main battery and functioning lens, must not be permanently marked or defaced and must be complete and undamaged (reasonable wear & tear accepted) (the “Trade-In Criteria”). For the avoidance of doubt, each of the following is considered beyond reasonable wear and tear: cracked/split or open chassis structure, cracked or non-working display, missing battery (if applicable), or lens cracked. Only cameras that fully comply with the Trade-In Criteria shall be deemed a DSLR for the purposes of this Promotion and such determination shall be at the sole discretion of the Promoter.

Participants may only submit one DSLR for a maximum of one Trade Up Reward.

6. Deletion of all data and information stored in any devices and/or other storage media submitted by a participant under this Promotion is the participant’s absolute responsibility. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for participants’ data and software. Upon receipt by the Promoter of a device from a participant, all data will be permanently and irretrievably destroyed. Please note the Promoter is unable to retrieve any participant data once a device has been received and accepted for the Promotion.

Privacy and Data Protection
7. The Promoter may use any personal information submitted by the participant to advise participants of future promotions and to provide information about products of the Promoter or its associated companies that may be of interest. The participant hereby consents to such personal information being used for this purpose and confirms that it agrees with the Promoter’s privacy policy available at: www.samsung.com/us/common/privacy.html.

8. Other than as set out in these Terms and Conditions or for the purposes of operating the Promotion, the details and information provided by the participant when entering the Promotion or claiming the Trade-up Reward will not be used for any promotional purpose, nor shall they be passed to any third party….
