Panasonic Canada has announced the LUMIX ZS80, a pocketable compact Travel Zoom with 20.3MP resolution (on a 1/2.3-in sensor), a 24mm ultra-wide angle for wide landscapes and a 30x telephoto reach. The lens is optically stabilized. The ZS80 shoots 4K video, features Time Lapse and Stop Motion Animation, panorama selfies, Creative Panorama and Filter Effects.

New travel camera features Live View Finder, powerful 30x optical zoom and 4K video and photo capability
MISSISSAUGA, ON (February 18, 2019) – Panasonic is introducing the LUMIX ZS80 as a new model in the popular Travel Zoom Series. The LUMIX ZS80 boasts a 30x optical zoom and Live View Finder (LVF) packed in a pocket-sized body while enabling 4K video and photo shooting. Made for travelers, the tiltable rear monitor lets users enjoy a variety of selfie shots including 4K selfies and panorama selfies, among many other unique features to ensure the perfect shot, no matter where you are in the world.

24mm ultra-wide angle and 30x telephoto LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens in a compact body
This versatile zoom range allows the capture of virtually any subject, in any situation – from dynamic landscapes to distant subjects. The LUMIX ZS80 also includes the POWER Optical Image Stabilizer (O.I.S.) that compensates for hand shake to minimize blur, and Zoom Compose Assist function, which helps to regain the subject quickly by zooming out when the sight of the subject is lost in telephoto shooting.
1/2.3-inch MOS Sensor with 20.3-megapixel high resolution
For even faster response and higher mobility, the LUMIX ZS80 integrates Depth From Defocus (DFD) technology*1, shortening the time to set the focus resulting in an ultra-high speed AF of approximately 0.1 sec*2, and high speed burst shooting to capture fast moving subjects in-focus, allowing for more than 26 consecutive shots in RAW.
High-resolution 4K video, photo and Full-HD format with practical full-time AF
High Speed Video enables subjects to be recorded with fast motion in Full-HD while Time Lapse and Stop Motion Animation are also available. Users can enjoy 4K Photo with the LUMIX ZS80 to capture fleeting photo opportunities by extracting any frame out of the 4K burst file to save as a JPEG photo with the newly added Auto Marking function. Sequence Composition makes it possible to make a composite image by synthesizing multiple images shot at with 4K PHOTO mode. Post Focus and Focus Stacking functions are also available.
Dynamic selfie options and creative imaging options
The 4K technology also makes it easier to capture the perfect selfie- capturing the best moment in which everyone is smiling or in situations where the background is moving. Selfies can also be shot in panorama pictures, which is ideal for groups or capturing a dynamically scenic background. The popular Creative Control mode features a total of 22 filter options. With the Creative Panorama function, it is possible to shoot a horizontal and vertical panoramic image with consecutive shots taken by overlaying the previous picture and reflecting 18 filter effects. The touch control monitor boasts a 180-degree tiltable structure, which automatically activates Self Shot mode when the monitor is flipped up.
