Nikon 1 J1 Review @ sansMirror

Nikon 1 J1

Nikon 1 J1

It’s like putting a V12 in a minivan: this camera appeals to Joe/Jill Consumer, but it has a racing engine underneath. Focus speed, frame rate, video excel.

Editor’s note: I suspect that Nikon is probably very happy with Thom Hogan’s review in spite of the rants therein of the “complete novice design philosophy” of the Nikon 1 J1 and of bypassing the DSLR users who want to downgrade. Nikon does NOT want their DSLR users to downgrade to the compact mirrorless, period. Every design aspect of the 1 System seems to have been taken to steer the traditional DSLR users away from the 1 System. So, if Thom Hogan’s review firmly convinces DSLR users to stay with Nikon’s traditional mirrored DSLR, the Nikon 1 designers are probably receiving a hefty bonus this holiday season. Ho, ho, ho.

We’ve added a new Nikon 1 J1 [QuickPrice Check] Review to our Reviews Matrix.
