Just for fun, we have added a column to specify whether it is a DSLR or mirrorless camera. Notice that the PROFESSIONAL CAMERA Award is still going to a full-frame DSLR. If a mirrorless camera wants to win this award next year, it needs to dethrone the prestigious Canon EOS 1D X Mark III — a very tall order. It might take a couple of years for this to happen, but happen it will.

Mirrorless takes home 5 awards, while DSLR has to be content with 3. But, according to the magazine editors of the EISA Awards, the full-frame mirrorless Sony Alpha 7R IV has bested the full-frame DSLR Nikon D780, and the APS-C mirrorless Fujifilm X-T4 has bested the APS-C DSLR Canon EOS 90D. So, in fact the FULL-FRAME CAMERA Award should also go to the Sony Alpha 7R IV, and the APS-C CAMERA Award should also go to the Fujifilm X-T4. This would then give 7 awards to mirrorless versus 1 to DSLR. Mirrorless is on the march, and have set their sights on the top echelons of the EISA Awards.
