There’s probably a lot more of your information floating around in cyberspace than you think! Managing your privacy and protecting your personal information doesn’t have to be hard! Here’s 3 tips to get you started.

Today, Intel Security takes part in Data Privacy Day (DPD), an annual international effort held annually on January 28 to create awareness about the importance of privacy and protecting personal information. The theme of DPD is about respecting privacy, safeguarding data and enabling trust – all key components of what Intel strives to deliver to its users on a daily basis.

Intel’s own Bruce Snell posted a recent blog that outlines the following seven key steps for consumers to take in order to protect their privacy online:

  1. Update!
  2. Use comprehensive security software on all your devices
  3. Use a complex password
  4. Never reuse a password
  5. Be suspicious!
  6. Restrict the amount of data you share online
  7. Keep an eye on your online accounts
