Ann Arbor Art Fair to Boast More Than 1,100 Artists Throughout The Streets Of Ann Arbor On July 20-23, 2011

Ann Arbor, Michigan July 08, 2011

More than 500,000 people are expected to flock to the streets of Ann Arbor this summer for the 52nd Annual Ann Arbor Art Fair. Art lovers will have the opportunity to meet artists from throughout the world from a variety of art media including 2D and 3D-mixed media, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry and works in metal, stone and wood.

“We are thrilled to present each of these artists who have been selected by an independent jury, consisting of professional artists, professors and gallery owners, said Maggie Ladd, director of the South University Art Fair, one of the four art fairs to participate in the event.

One Event. Four Fairs.
Comprised of four separate art fairs, The Ann Arbor Art Fair is now being marketed as one event to better serve guests and artists. Visitors will begin to see a new logo and branding, which has been developed to be used consistently throughout the event, to complement the individual identity of each of the four fairs.

“The four fairs and its directors are thrilled to collaborate on our marketing initiatives to bring even more exciting artists and programming to the streets of Ann Arbor this summer,” said Ladd. “We recognize that most visitors have always thought of us as one event – and it was logical from a marketing standpoint to join together – to increase awareness of all the wonderful artists and activities at the Fair.”

Entertainment and Activities
In addition to art exhibits, the Ann Arbor Art Fair also features artist demonstrations, music performances and children’s activities including Imagination Stations – family-oriented stops along the way offering special projects designed to engage and challenge even the youngest of fairgoers. Ann Arbor’s downtown restaurants and retailers add to the festivities by tempting sidewalk sales and outdoor dining.

This year’s featured artists include Sue Abbott, Julie Fremuth, Stephen Kade and Daniel Lager.

New Social Media Tools for Real Time Information
Under the cohesive brand, The Ann Arbor Art Fair will be posting “real time” information on its newly created Facebook and Twitter page with photos of art and artists, activities, entertainment, weather and traffic updates and more. Look for event information prior to the Fair to be posted on a frequent basis. Visitors will also be able to post their favorite finds during the Art Fair.
