Toyota Apologizes For Using Flickr Pictures

Lots of people now use Flickr pictures to illustrate articles and even digital photography tutorials (giving the false impression they know what they are talking about).

Now Toyota U.S.A. has apologized to Flickr photographers for using (about 40) Flickr images without their permission in its 4Runner SUV ad.

But are they PAYING for that use?
Or just apologising and getting away with copyright infringement?

Hey Paul,

You’re right…

According to the PDN article, Toyota U.S.A. removed the photos from one of its sites, apologized to the affected photographers, and are “working quickly to reach out to the individual photographers involved.”

So far, just an apology, incredible free coverage, and no real negative consequences…
