Toronto Star Under The Knife

It’s surely a sign of the times, of the new economy, of the Internet becoming an integral part of our lives, as we witness another paper-based news provider reinvent itself. The Star is cutting about one-fifth of its newsroom staff (78 editing jobs) and offering buyouts and early retirement packages to all of its employees. The goal is to reinvent itself as a totally online news provider. The Star is our favorite online newspaper and we wish it and its employees our moral support in these difficult economic times.
