The Making Of Fantastic Mr. Fox

The movie is laboriously shot on a Nikon D3s in stop-motion animation using 5,229 shots, 621,450 frames and 120 GB/day for a total of 18.5 Terabytes of storage. A “Fishcat” system allowed live feed to the Director (wherever he may be in the World) to control the animation process (“Move the puppet to the left, please”) being shot on up to 30 different stages.
