In a reversal of what has become a main staple in action movies, Michael Bay hired real birdmen for his latest Transformers movie to jump and fly around downtown Chicago instead of relying on CGI.
Five cameras were used in total: 3 on the ground, one aerial stabilized camera on a helicopter and one stereoscopic head-mounted camera on one of the birdmen. It’s stunning footage.
