Stonehenge Partners Announces Manhattanhenge Photo Contest

To celebrate the occurrence of Manhattanhenge, a breathtaking solar event, Stonehenge Partners is hosting a celebration in the streets of Times Square. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12th at 235 West 48th Street with a ceremonial procession through Times Square.

Stonehenge Partners is proud to publicly support the July 12th New York City Manhattanhenge occurrence. Beginning at 7:00 p.m. at 235 West 48th Street in Firefighters Memorial Park, Stonehenge will lead festivities centered around the solar event. Following these festivities, Stonehenge will lead a walk through the Times Square Pedestrian Walkway (Broadway from 42nd to 47th streets).

Manhattanhenge is a semi-annual occurrence in which the setting sun aligns with the east–west streets of the Manhattan grid. The term “Manhattanhenge” is derived from the historical and mysterious structure in England where the sun aligns on each of the solstices.

Blizzard 2009 | Snowball fight Times Square

Four kids from Florida (Jacob, Chelsey, Ty, and Reagan) started a snowball fight at the red steps of Times Square on December 19th, 2009, which escalated, attracting hundreds of onlookers and participants for a night never to be forgotten.
