The Samsung NX200 improves on the NX100 in the compact Interchangeable Lens Camera (ILC or “compact mirrorless DSLR”) category sporting a 20.3MP APS-C CMOS (23.5×15.7 mm) sensor, a 7.6-cm (3.0-in.) AMOLED display (614k-dot), and Full HD 1080p 1920×1080 Movie. A 18-55mm (27-84mm equiv.) F3.5-5.6 3.0x optical zoom kit lens with optical image stabilization is included.
Samsung is definitely establishing itself as a serious player in the compact mirrorless DSLR category and continues to add new lenses to the NX System. The NX200 is feature-rich and provides all the semi-automatic and manual shooting modes the serious photographer requires.
The NX200 does not have a built-in viewfinder, and Samsung does not provide an external electronic viewfinder (EVF) anymore. The Accessory Port is gone, replaced with a hot shoe. The NX200 also does not have a built-in flash, but a small external flash is included in the box.
Other features advanced photographers will appreciate: RAW file support, PASM shooting modes (with full shutter speed range available), manual zoom ring, manual focus ring (fly-by-wire), and a beautiful 3.0-in. AMOLED screen that provides a higher contrast than LCD and allows for easier viewing in direct sunlight.
The Samsung NX200 is available in black, and is priced at about US $899.99 (CAD $).
