Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2

As an alternative to an entry-level (or mid-range) DSLR the G2 delivers with a dose of panache.

We’ve added another Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 [Specs] Review to our Reviews Matrix.

DPReview has published their review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2, successor to the G1, with a touch screen interface that can be used to select the focus point, adjust camera settings and fire the shutter (the traditional control buttons are still present). Feature-wise, the G2 is similar to the G1 but adds HD Movie in AVCHD Lite with monaural sound (stereo with optional adapter). The Control Dial has also moved from the front of the handgrip to the back at the thumbrest area.

Just Posted! Panasonic G2 Review

The Panasonic G2 adds touchscreen functionality and HD 720p movie to the G1. And, like the G1, this mirrorless Digital Interchangeable Lens camera provides pretty much all the features serious amateur photographers have come to expect from a DSLR with the added bonus of practical features from the point-and-shoot world that makes it fast, precise and a pleasure to use.

Its design is excellent – and the rotating, touch-control screen is a luxury feature that other manufacturers could do with looking at closely.
