Fuji X-E2 Review @ Neocamera

Tue December 17, 2013 | by Itai Danan

The Fuji X-E2 is the most advanced mirrorless by Fuji. It uses the same unique 16 megapixels X-Trans CMOS II sensor as the fixed-lens Fuji X100S and matches it with a Fuji X-mount which gives access to a growing lineup of Fujinon lenses. As a high-end offering, this mirrorless offers a built-in EVF with 2.4 megapixels and a built-in Eye-Start sensor. The EXR II processor in the X-E2 captures images continuously at up to 7 FPS and full 1080p HD video at 60 FPS.

Fuji X-E2 Review

fuji_xe2_review

The Fuji X-E2 promised to deliver full-frame image-quality with its special 6×6 X-Trans color-filter array which is not prone to moire and therefore does not need an anti-alias filter. It also claims to match the autofocus speed of high-end DSLRs with a new hybrid autofocus system which combined Contrast-Detect and Phase-Detect on-sensor.

To find out how it performs and if it lives up to expectations, read the detailed Fuji X-E2 review here.

Sun August 25, 2013 | by Itai Danan

The Fuji X100S is Fuji’s premium fixed-lens camera and features a unique sensor with 1.5X crop-factor, just like most DSLR cameras. It has a resolution of 16 megapixels which is maximized by using a special color-filter-array which does not require an anti-alias filter to avoid moire. This one add built-in phase-detect autofocus which, along with the usual contrast-detect autofocus, proves a hybrid AF system.

Olympus Stylus XZ-10 Review @ Neocamera

Thu August 15, 2013 | by Itai Danan

Olympus Stylus XZ-10 Review

Olympus Stylus XZ-10 Review

The Olympus Stylus XZ-10 is the smallest camera to offer a zoom lens which remains bright from wide-angle to telephoto. With a stabilized 5X wide-angle optical zoom lens with maximum F/1.8 aperture at 26mm-equivalent and F/2.7 at 130mm, the XZ-10 can shoot in lower light than most fixed-lens camera. Its lens is paired with a 12 megapixels CMOS sensor with fast 5 FPS continuous drive and full 1080p HD video-recording capability.

The advanced camera includes full manual-controls and dual control-dials. Its traditional mode-dial, customizable function button and touchscreen give it many more controls than the majority of compact cameras. Read the detailed review to find out how it performs.

Nikon D7100 Review @ Neocamera

Mon June 17, 2013 | by Itai Danan

Nikon D7100 Review

Nikon D7100

The Nikon D7100 is the most advanced cropped-sensor DSLR by Nikon. It features a 24 megapixels sensor without an anti-alias filter in order to get the most details from its sensor, at least when combined with a high-quality lens. As a professional offering, the D7100 has a weather-sealed body with a bright 100% coverage viewfinder, dual control-dials and plenty of external controls.

One of the headline change from the D7000 which it succeeds, is a new 51-point AF sensor, similar to the one used by the high end D4. This one offers 15 cross-type points which allow the D7100 to track action. It can also shoot continuously at up to 6 FPS or even 7 FPS in 1.3X crop-mode, as well as record full 1080p HD video.

Read the Nikon D7100 review to find out how it handles and performs. Be sure to check out the extensive gallery of full-resolution images shot at ISO 100 all the way to 25,600.

Fuji X20 Review @ Neocamera

Mon June 3, 2013 | by Itai Danan

Fuji X20 ReviewFuji X20 Review

The Fuji X20 offers a significant upgrade over the previously reviewed Fuji Finepix X10 with an all-new 2/3″ X-Trans CMOS II sensor which features a unique color-filter-array that requires no anti-alias-filter and is not susceptible to moire artifacts. This sensor also includes built-in phase-detect autofocus, the same system used by DSLRs which is extremely rare in small cameras. The X20 preserves the unique lens offered by its predecessor. This 4X wide-angle optical zoom lens is stabilied and has both a bright maximum aperture and a mechanical zoom ring, making it quiet and infinitely precise.

The X20 also introduces yet-another unique feature with its optical tunnel viewfinder than can highlight focus areas and show exposure parameters thanks to an LCD layer. There is also a 2.8″ LCD with 460K pixels on the back.

Read the detailed review to find out how it performs and compares to other premium compact digital cameras.

Nikon D5200 Review @ Neocamera

Wed May 15, 2013 | by Itai Danan

Nikon D5200 Review

Nikon D5200 Review

The Nikon D5200 is a 24 megapixels entry-level DSLR geared towards amateur action photographers. Its 39-point AF system is unique in its class and provides better focus-tracking of moving subjects compared to other entry-level DSLRs. This makes the D5200 an ideal candidates for shooting sports and wildlife, when combined with a suitable lens.

This DSLR can shoot at 5 FPS continuously and record full 1080p HD video with stereo-sound. AF is available during video recording, even continuous autofocus, using a standard Contrast-Detect AF system, rather than the 39-point Phase-Detect one.

Read the review to find out how it performs, handles and compares to other DSLRs.
