Mamamiya! Mamiya Redesigns Its Logo!

Wed July 14, 2010

Mama mia! Abbreviating your company’s name and redesigning your logo are two things that must not be trifled with. Reinventing oneself rarely works unless you have first a clear vision of where you want to go and how to flawlessly execute that change.

We’re not sure how much change Mamiya wants to embrace but it has changed its logo and going live with a new website that is not yet totally ready as of this writing, with a number of links giving the “404 – File or directory not found” error message. No big deal, all sites have a few of those around, but usually of older pages. The new site looks very nice, though. No words on why the logo changed or what / if it represents a new vision.

Visit the new Mamiya site.

Mamiya Announces Leaf Capture Remote iPhone App

Mon December 21, 2009

Leaf Remote Capture for iphone

The Leaf Capture Remote iPhone app permits real-time, on-set remote viewing of medium format images for the new Mamiya DM system, enabling instant feedback on any shot. This effectively transforms an Apple iPhone® or iPod® Touch into a remote image viewer.

What is intersting about htis app is that while the photographer is shooting in a tethered mode, other people on set – the creative director, client, stylist, etc. – can watch via a standard Wi-Fi network, without hindering the movement of the photographer or crowding around one monitor. The images display high resolution and the software allows viewers to pan and zoom using the iPhone or iPod Touch.
