The Fujifilm FinePix S200EXR is the “almost DSLR” Super Zoom and is easily the best bridge DSLR-like digital camera. As if to make the point clear, the S200EXR looks like a DSLR, has the dimension and weight of one, and handles like one with its deep grip, manual zoom ring and lots of dedicated control buttons.

In size and weight, the Fujifilm S200EXR bucks the trend toward more compact and lightweight digital SLR cameras. Those with large hands will feel comfortable with it at once. Construction and feel are very good.

The Fujifilm S200EXR replaces the FinePix S100FS, improving in one aspect but losing some features also. Of course, the improvement is the Super CCD EXR image sensor that, for all practical purposes, has pretty much eliminated blown highlights forever in pictures, though you’ll have to settle for a 6M image. Features lost (or compromised) include the 2.5-in. tiltable LCD now replaced with a fixed 2.7-in. LCD (same 230K dots resolution), a wider 28mm replaced with a not-as-wide 30.5mm (on the other hand, tele is now a longer 436mm instead of 400mm, for same 14.3x optical zoom), and the loss of the Flash Synchronizing Terminal for TTL mode.
