New LUMIX F3 Digital Camera is Compact with 4x Optical Zoom and High Definition Video Recording Capabilities

MISSISSAUGA, ON (January 7, 2010) – Panasonic Canada Inc. introduced today two new entry-level digital cameras designed with simplicity in mind and a focus on style and performance. The 12.1-Megapixel LUMIX DMC-F3 and 10.1-Megapixel DMC-F2 have an impressive 4x optical zoom, considering their small size, as well as Panasonic’s shooting assistant, Auto Scene Mode. The LUMIX F3 also records dynamic High Definition video in 1280 x 720p at a smooth 30 fps, while both shoot in WVGA (848 x 480) and normal VGA (640 x 480). The LUMIX F3 is equipped with a 28mm (28-112mm) wide-angle lens and a 2.7-inch 230,000-dot resolution LCD, designed for clear visibility when shooting still photos and videos. The F2 has a 33mm (33-132mm) lens and a 2.5-inch LCD. Both models feature a high-sensitivity CCD sensor and an Extra Optical Zoom function which extends zoom power to 7.8x (F3) and 7.1x (F2).

PANASONIC INTRODUCES NEW 64GB AND 48GB SDXC MEMORY CARDS, AVAILABLE GLOBALLY IN FEBRUARY 2010

MISSISSAUGA, ON (January 7, 2009) – Panasonic Canada Inc. today announced the availability of the company’s first 64GB and 48GB SDXC (SDeXtended Capacity) Memory Cards. The new SDXC Memory Cards, the RP-SDW64GE1K (64GB) and RP-SDW48GE1K (48GB), are Panasonic’s largest-sized GOLD cards with Class 10 speed specification. Featuring a new advanced Super Intelligent Controller, which helps to improve the reliability of the card and extend its lifetime, the new SDXC Memory Cards will be available in February 2010 with suggested retail prices of CAD $699.99 and CAD $499.99 respectively.

OLYMPUS has announced the Stylus TOUGH 3000, a 12MP digital camera that is waterproof (3 m / 10 ft), freezeproof (-10°C / 14°F), and shockproof (1.5 m / 5 foot drop), making it a perfect companion for active families who spend lots of time in the pool, on the slopes and trekking the great outdoors.

It is the first Stylus Tough camera with 720p HD video, and features a 3.6x wide-angle optical zoom (28-102mm equiv.), Sensor-Shift Image Stabilization, Intelligent AUTO, Scene Modes, Face Detection, In-Camera Panorama Stitching, a Magic Filter (Pop Art, Pin Hole, Fish-Eye and Drawing), AF tracking, Geotagging, and Face Recognition functionality.

Also of note is that with the Stylus TOUGH 3000, Olympus has dropped the use of its proprietary xD-Picture Card and switches to SD memory cards (up to 32GB).

Available February 2010 at an Estimated Street Price of CAD 249.99 (US $229.99).

The sleek, lightweight metal body of the STYLUS 7030 comes in titanium, blue and purple.

OLYMPUS Canada has announced two new entry-level FE Series digital cameras. The new FE-4020 and FE-47 feature 14MP resolution, Intelligent AUTO, Shadow Adjustment technology, Advanced Face Detection, AF Tracking, a Magic Filter (Pop Art, Pin Hole, Fish-Eye and Drawing), and AVI movie. The FE-4020 has 4x wide-angle optical zoom (26–105mm equiv.) while the FE-47 has 5x optical zoom (36–180mm equiv.).

Also of note is that with these new FE digital cameras, Olympus has dropped the use of its proprietary xD-Picture Card and switches to SD memory cards (up to 32GB).

The FE digital cameras come in a variety of colors to suit everyone’s style. The FE-4020 is available in warm gray, pearl white, light pink and light blue, and the FE-47 comes in silver, black, red and blue.
