Sound Art Artist Draws on Sand Using Oscillating Sound

From OKM080725

Japanese artist Kenichi Kanazawa rubs a rubber mallet on a metal table to generate osciallating sound, which in turn creates patterns from the grains of sand on the table. The higher the frequency, the more complex the patterns that emerge. The technique is called Cymatics and mirrors the
symmetries found throughout the natural world, from the hidden shapes buried within
snowflakes to the massive hexagonal cloud formations found on Saturn.
