The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W100 is the top
of the line W Series. It features 8.1MP resolution
on a 1/1.8-in. image sensor, 3x optical zoom and
an extra large 2.5-in. LCD monitor.
Starting a new trend (hopefully), the Sony W100
has 64MB built-in internal memory, very useful
when you suddenly run out of memory space on your
Memory Stick media. There is no memory card in
the box, and we'd recommend that you consider
a 1GB Memory Stick.
The Sony W100 has an AF-assist lamp to help achieve
focus in low-light situations, up to 30 sec. shutter
speed in manual mode for capturing night shots,
and 0.9fps burst mode (3 shots). Macro is as close
as 6cm.
The Cyber-shot W100 is PictBridge compatible,
allowing direct printing from the camera to any
PictBridge compatible printer.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W100 is available
in black or silver bodies and should appeal to
photographers looking for a compact, high resolution,
take-anywhere digital camera.
