The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S90 features the
high-end Carl Zeiss optics, 3x optical zoom and
4.1 effective megapixel resolution.
With the Sony S90, Sony leaves the elongated
rectangular design made popular by the P-series,
and introduces a more conventional rectangular
design. Like more expensive Sony models, the Sony
S90 accepts optional filters, wide-angle and telephoto
conversion lenses (adapter required), and has
an extra large 2.5 in. LCD monitor (115K resolution).
The Sony S90 also does not come standard with
a memory card since it has 32MB internal flash
memory.
Manual exposure mode provides extended control
with 46-step adjustable Shutter speed (30
1/1000 sec.), and 2-step Aperture control. Auto
Focus is achieved with a 5 Area Multi-Point AF,
Center AF, or limited (5-Step only) Manual focus.
An AF Illuminator helps achieve focus in low-light
situations.
The S90 is PictBridge compatible, allowing direct
printing from the camera to any PictBridge compatible
printer.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S90 should appeal
to photographers looking for a compact point-and-shoot
digital camera.
