Sony DSC-S40 Cyber-shot

Mouseover image for back view

Category: Point-and-Shoot

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S40 features the high-end Carl Zeiss optics, 3x optical zoom and 4.1 effective megapixel resolution.

The Sony S40 has 32MB internal flash memory, 5 Area Multi-Point AF, and an AF Illuminator to help achieve focus in low-light situations. It also has an Auto Bright Monitoring feature to help framing in low-or no-light situations: the CCD gain is briefly increased to provide an extra bright display on the LCD viewfinder just before exposure.

The Sony S40 has a 1.5 in. 67K LCD monitor, takes 640 x 480 MPEG movies with sound at 30fps (using the Memory Stick PRO™ media), and takes 2 long-lasting AA batteries.

The S40 is PictBridge compatible, allowing direct printing from the camera to any PictBridge compatible printer.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S40 should appeal to photographers looking for an ultra compact point-and-shoot digital camera.
