The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S40 features the
high-end Carl Zeiss optics, 3x optical zoom and
4.1 effective megapixel resolution.
The Sony S40 has 32MB internal flash memory,
5 Area Multi-Point AF, and an AF Illuminator to
help achieve focus in low-light situations. It
also has an Auto Bright Monitoring feature to
help framing in low-or no-light situations: the
CCD gain is briefly increased to provide an extra
bright display on the LCD viewfinder just before
exposure.
The Sony S40 has a 1.5 in. 67K LCD monitor, takes
640 x 480 MPEG movies with sound at 30fps (using
the Memory Stick PRO media), and takes 2
long-lasting AA batteries.
The S40 is PictBridge compatible, allowing direct
printing from the camera to any PictBridge compatible
printer.
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S40 should appeal
to photographers looking for an ultra compact
point-and-shoot digital camera.
