The Sony DSC-P200 Cyber-shot has 7.2-megapixel
resolution, a Carl Zeiss branded lens at 3x optical
zoom, and macro focus at 6 cm (2.4 in.). It has
a nice shutter speed range, allowing you to go
as long as 30 sec. in Manual mode.
The Sony P200 is basically a P150
with a larger 2 in. LCD monitor (though at the
same 134K resolution) and a slightly smaller and
lighter body. It is a point-and-shoot digital
camera with Programmed Auto mode, some manual
control over exposure compensation, aperture and
shutter speed, and scene modes to make taking
shots in various common situations a snap. An
AF Illuminator helps with low-light focusing.
Movie size is 640x480 at 30fps using Memory Stick
PRO media. You can even display a histogram in
both capture and playback modes.
If you are one of those who love to add accessories,
you can screw on filters (30mm) using the optional
VAD-PHB adaptor. Other optional accessories include
wide-angle and telephoto conversion lenses, carrying
case, and table top tripod.
The Sony DSC-P200 is PictBridge compatible,
allowing you to print directly to a printer without
going through a computer.
