Sony DSC-H7 Cyber-shot

Category: Beginner to Serious Amateur

The Sony DSC-H7 Cyber-shot features 8.1MP resolution, a Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar lens with a maximum aperture of F2.7, 15x optical zoom (31 - 465 mm, 35mm Equivalent) with Super SteadyShot® Optical Image Stabilization and macro focus as close as 1cm.

Shutter speed ranges from 30 - 1/4,000 sec. in Shutter-Priority and Manual modes, providing for nice night shots as well as action-stopping shots. It has flexible exposure control with AUTO, Programmed AE, Shutter-Priority, Aperture-Priority and Manual modes, plus 9 Scene Modes. A remote control unit is standard and allows you to control basic camera functions, including zoom and menu settings.

For those who like infrared shots, Sony’s NightShot® system provides infrared illumination for shooting in near-dark or totally dark conditions without using a flash.

The Sony H7 will record 640x480 MPEG VX movies with sound at 30fps when using the Memory Stick PRO DUO™ media. You can use optical zoom in movie mode. The large 2.5-in. LCD screen has 115K pixels resolution.

HD output (with optional Sony® HD connector cable) allows you to view still photos in high definition clarity and detail directly on your compatible HDTV screen.

The Sony DSC-H7 Cyber-shot will appeal to beginner and serious amateur photographers desiring a long zoom digital camera with image stabilization, a large hand grip, and flexible exposure control.

For about US $80 more, the Sony H9 features an extra large flip-up 3.0-in. LCD.
