SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 Firmware Update

Thank you for your patronage to SIGMA products.

We would like to announce the availability of a new firmware update for the SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 EF-E and SA-E.

The latest firmware update improves the phenomenon, detailed below, that occurs when some lenses that are not compatible with the SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 are attached to the MC-11. This firmware update is not necessary for customers who are only using compatible lenses, as this phenomenon does not occur when compatible lenses are attached and the LED lamp on the MC-11 is green (※1). However, we recommend that all customers update firmware for both the MC-11 and lenses to the latest version using SIGMA Optimization Pro (※2).

This firmware update does not guarantee accurate operation with lenses that are not compatible with the MC-11.

※1 To see the list of compatible lenses, please refer the following page.

※2 Please use SIGMA Optimization Pro Version 1.3 when updating the firmware of SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11.

[Applicable products]

  • SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 EF-E
  • SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 SA-E

[Benefit of this firmware update]
It has improved the following phenomenon that occurs when lenses that are not compatible with the MC-11 are attached and no light is emitted on the MC-11’s LED lamp.

  • Does not operate properly on continuous shooting mode.
  • In the case of some lenses that incorporate an OS function, when the camera’s power is turned off, it does not respond to any operation for a certain period of time.
  • When open aperture is not selected for shooting, the aperture does not return to fully open.

※ Improvements may not be visible with some products.
※ The phenomenon that the diaphragm closes when the camera’s power is turned off is due to the characteristic of the camera and is considered to specification.

[Lenses that are not compatible with the MC-11]
We will continue to consider ensuring stable operation of lenses that are not compatible with the MC-11. Therefore customers who are using the MC-11 can enjoy photography as much as possible with their own lenses even though there may be some restrictions. However, please note that due to the characteristics of the products, accurate operation, including AF, is not guaranteed with lenses that are not compatible with the MC-11.

We appreciate your continued support for our company and products.
