Professional Photographers of Canada-British Columbia: Youth Photography Contest Deadline is July 15, 2014


The Professional Photographers of Canada – British Columbia (PPOC – BC) has extended the deadline for its Youth Photography Contest to July 15, 2014.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a Nikon D3300 Camera and Kit Lens.

  • All finalists will receive a certificate.
  • Awards are non transferable and have no cash alternative.
  • Nikon reserves the right to substitute the original prize with an alternate prize of equal monetary value.

WHO CAN ENTER
The contest is open to youth enrolled in British Columbia, Canada, grades 8 through 12, or the equivalent such as home school, for the duration of the 2013/2014 school year.

HOW TO ENTER

All submissions are digital and each entrant can enter up to two images.

  • Entries must be received no later than 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time July 15, 2014.
  • The Declaration and applicable Model Releases must be completed, signed, scanned and returned along with the images by email to YOUTHCONTEST@PPOC-BC.CA.
    • The Declaration and Model Releases will qualify as your official entry and must be submitted together with your digital image(s) in order to be considered for judging.

CATEGORIES
Images must fall into 1 or 2 of the following categories:
1–Having Fun
2–My Best Friend
3–My World
4–Selfie
5–Animal
6–Other Cool Stuff

  • Please note:
    • Images will be scored on Impact, Composition, Creativity, and Overall Story-telling.
      • Judges will pick the top 3 finalists for each category.
      • One grand prizewinner will be selected from all the finalists.
    • The participant/entrant’s images may:
      • be used by PPOC – BC, PHOTOgraphie and it’s Sponsors for promotional, display and educational purposes relating to this contest and
      • appear on the websites of PPOC – BC, PHOTOgraphie and it’s Sponsors.
    • The copyright of the images submitted remains with the participant/entrant.
