Panasonic Canada today announced five new additions to its award winning LUMIX digital camera line-up
PANASONIC’S NEWEST TOUCH-SCREEN LUMIX DIGITAL CAMERA FEATURES FACE RECOGNITION AND INCREASED MEGAPIXELS
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX580
Panasonic Canada Inc. announced today its newest touch-screen LUMIX digital camera, the slim and stylish DMC-FX580, a successor to last year’s DMC-FX500. The new DMC-FX580 features a 25mm ultra-wide-angle LEICA DC lens with F2.8 brightness; a 5x optical zoom; and an increased recording image size from 10.1-megapixel to 12.1-megapixel. Using the popular touch-screen operation is easy with the DMC-FX580’s large 3.0-inch LCD – making both shooting and image playback intuitive and smooth.
New in 2009, the advanced iA adds Face Recognition – a feature that identifies individual faces – makes the camera a “personal verification system”. Face Recognition allows a user to give AF and AE priority to a single person in a group, ensuring that a person’s face will be beautifully exposed.
In addition, Panasonic’s newly developed Venus Engine V processor integrates these advanced functions and controls the camera’s operation with high speed, high performance, and low-power consumption.
The DMC-FX580 features an aluminum body and is available in black starting in April 2009 for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $499.99.
PANASONIC INTRODUCES WORLD’S FIRST WATERPROOF, SHOCKPROOF AND DUSTPROOF DIGITAL CAMERA WITH AVCHD LITE HD VIDEO RECORDING CAPABILITIES
Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1
Panasonic Canada Inc. introduced today the LUMIX DMC-TS1, the world’s first waterproof, shockproof and dustproof digital camera to also feature AVCHD Lite High Definition (HD) video recording capabilities. The TS1’s tough and rugged design makes it the ideal choice for active users needing the ultimate hybrid for capturing both still and motion images during outdoor activities. The LUMIX TS1, with a 12.1 megapixel resolution, features a 28mm wide-angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens; a 4.6x optical zoom; and Panasonic’s proprietary iA (Intelligent Auto) mode, making this an easy-to-use, yet powerful camera that packs advanced imaging features.
The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TS1 will be available in silver, blue and orange models in April 2009 for a manufacturer’s suggested price of $499.99.
PANASONIC’S NEW LUMIX ZS-SERIES, THE ULTIMATE COMPACT DIGITAL CAMERAS, SUCCEEDS POPULAR TZ-SERIES
Panasonic Canada Inc. introduced today the LUMIX DMC-ZS3 and DMC-ZS1; part of the new ZS-Series, the company’s ultimate compact and powerful digital cameras and successor to the acclaimed LUMIX TZ-Series.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3
The LUMIX ZS3 features 10.1-megapixels; a 25mm ultra-wide-angle lens; and 12x optical zoom, meaning it has added 2x optical zoom to the award-winning TZ-Series camera, yet reduced its size. The ZS3 also features a LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens and High Definition (HD) video recording ability, known as AVCHD Lite. The ZS3 also expands Panasonic’s popular Intelligent Auto (iA) mode with the addition of Face Recognition – a feature that “remembers” faces from previous shots. When a registered face appears in the frame the camera will prioritize focus and exposure to capture it beautifully.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1
The ZS1, like the ZS3, features a 25mm ultra-wide angle, 12x powerful optical zoom. Distinguishing it, the ZS1 features a 10.1 megapixel CCD, a standard iA mode (no Face Recognition) for still image recording and a 2.7-inch, 230,000-dot Intelligent LCD.
The DMC-ZS3 will be available in silver, black and blue for a manufacturer’s suggested price (MSP) of $499.99, while the DMC-ZS1 will be available in black and silver for an MSP of $399.99. Both models will be available in April 2009.
PANASONIC ADDS LUMIX DMC-FS25 TO ITS FS-SERIES OF SLIM AND SLEEK DIGITAL CAMERAS
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS25
Panasonic Canada Inc. announced today the DMC-FS25 as its newest addition to the LUMIX FS-Series of digital cameras. The top-of-the-line FS-Series 12.1 megapixel model features a 5x optical zoom; a 29mm wide-angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens; and a 3.0-inch intelligent LCD. In addition, the LUMIX FS models – a stylish sister-line of the highly-acclaimed LUMIX FX-Series – combine easy operation with a sleek look, enabling both beginner and advanced users to take beautiful digital photos with a camera that slips in a pocket.
The DMC-FS25 will be available in black and gold for a manufacturer’s suggested price of $329.99 and will be available in April 2009.
PANASONIC LUMIX DIGITAL CAMERA FEATURES POWERFUL 5X OPTICAL ZOOM IN SLIM BODY THAT FITS IN POCKET
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX48
Panasonic Canada Inc. today expanded its popular LUMIX FX digital cameras series with the introduction of its pocket-sized and powerful 12.1-megapixel DMC-FX48; featuring a 25mm ultra-wide-angle LEICA DC lens and a powerful 5x optical zoom (equivalent to 25mm to 125mm on a 35mm film camera). With a 25mm ultra-wide-angle lens and 5x optical zoom, users can capture nearly double the viewing space at the same shooting distance compared to standard 35mm cameras, thus the FX48 can photograph images with great width and depth. The FX48 also features Face Recognition, a new technology to Panasonic’s proprietary advanced iA (Intelligent Auto) mode and can also record High Definition (1280 x 720p) motion images at 30 fps.
The DMC-FX48 will be available in red and black models starting in April 2009 for a manufacturer’s suggested price of $449.99.
