first with the stylish FinePix Z5fd
Innovative ‘Face
Detection Technology’ adds substance
to beautiful photos

- Fujifilm has announced the launch of the
FinePix Z5fd, the first of its iconic `Z`-series
cameras to feature its innovative Face Detection
Technology. Inspired by research that showed
70 per cent of consumer photos were “people
shots,” Fujifilm’s Face Detection
identifies up to 10 subjects’ faces
in the frame and, in real time, determines
the optimal focus and exposure settings
for the best results.
Premiering in the FinePix S6000fd, Fujifilm’s
Face Detection Technology represented an
industry first because the technology was
‘hard wired’ to the camera’s
processor. The FinePix Z5fd is the third
Fujifilm camera to feature this technology,
following the highly regarded S6000fd and
the F31fd.
In addition to its portability, the Z5fd
features the following unique Fujifilm technologies
that make it the perfect “take-anywhere”
camera:
- Fujifilm’s Face Detection
captures up to ten faces in a frame in
as little as 0.05 seconds and optimizes
focus and exposure to take the best portrait
shots. A simple push of the shutter button
sets your imagination free to compose
photos like never before. In playback
mode, Face Detection can be used to maintain
faces as the key focus of a photo when
cropping or zooming in.
- Fujifilm`s Real Photo Technology
is the combination of lens, Super CCD
and RP (Real Photo) processor that helps
the camera produce images of impressive
quality. The FinePix Z5fd’s ISO1600
light-sensitivity at full resolution enables
it to take photos in low light without
flash and with less noise than competing
models might produce at a lower ISO. In
addition, the camera’s highly sensitive
Super CCD makes it possible to use higher
shutter speeds, preventing camera shake
or subject blur.
- Fujifilm’s i-Flash system
analyzes the scene and automatically controls
flash power output. The result is balanced
exposure where the scene is sufficiently
illuminated without washing out the foreground
in the picture or losing background detail.
- Fujifilm’s innovative Dual-Shooting
Mode takes two consecutive shots (one
with flash and one without) giving users
the choice between the two – adjusting
flash settings will never again mean a
missed photo opportunity.
