Say A for
Attitude: Fujifilm Announces
New A-Series Lineup
Ease-of-use and Style
Compliment Features in New Models
Mississauga, ON, January 04, 2006
Fuji Photo Film Canada Inc. today
announced two new entry-level compact digital
cameras in its popular FinePix A-series
lineup. The FinePix A500 features a 5.1-
megapixel version of the high-performance
Fujifilm Super CCD, while the FinePix A400
is equipped with a 4.1-megapixel Super CCD.
Both cameras offer a large, easy-to-view
1.8-inch LCD screen to help consumers capture
the perfect shot.
Consumers want to cut through the
multitude of digital camera options with
a camera thats simple to use and delivers
quality shots, said Doug Snyder, Marketing
Manager, Consumer Digital, Fujifilm Canada.
Fuji has provided an answer to that
need with the new easy-to-use, high-performance
FinePix A500 and A400.
Designed with ease-of-use as a priority,
the number of buttons on the camera bodies
has been kept to a minimum. The addition
of an optical viewfinder makes the FinePix
A500 and A400 easy to operate, even for
novice photographers. Both new models also
feature 12 megabytes of internal memory,
making it possible to record up to a minimum
of 15 frames (at a two-megapixel resolution)
without a media card. The FinePix A500 and
A400 are powered by readily available 2x
AA-size batteries.
These new models now incorporate the proprietary
Fujifilm Super CCD, which drives outstanding
imaging performance in high-end and mid-range
digital cameras in Fujifilms FinePix
line-up. This sophisticated imaging sensor
ensures exceptional image quality, characterized
by accurate reproduction of subtle details,
smooth, attractive skin tones, and true-to-life
colours.
Additional features of the FinePix A500
and A400 include a 3x optical zoom lens,
selectable sensitivity up to ISO 400, QVGA
movie capture of 10 frames per second and
four selectable scene modes (Portrait, Landscape,
Sports, Night), allowing for customized
shots that best suit the moment.
Were thrilled to offer consumers
these two new cameras in the Fuji FinePix
A-series line-up, said Mr. Snyder.
Were confident that the combination
of quality features and streamlined style
in the A500 and A400 will be a welcome addition
to the Fuji family of digital cameras.
Distinguished by ease-of-use and exceptional
image quality, the
FinePix A500 and FinePix A400 will be available
in March, 2006 for estimated street price
of $259.99 CDN and $199.99 CDN respectively.
