NEW COLOR imageCLASS
MF8180c COLOUR DESKTOP LASER MULTIFUNCTION
DEVICE FOR SMALL/HOME OFFICES FROM CANON
CANADA
New product offers economical,
high-performance colour multi-function solutions
for small and home offices
Mississauga, ON, March 20, 2006
Canon Canada, Inc., the leading provider
of digital imaging solutions, today unveiled
the next-generation colour multifunction
printer device - the Color imageCLASS MF8180c,
a colour desktop MFP laser solution. This
new device allows smaller offices to have
the functionality and flexibility of colour
operations all in one machine.
Canons new Color imageCLASS MF8180c
colour device expands the companys
extensive colour laser multifunction portfolio
and provides small and home offices with
the right solution for their business. Moving
from multiple single function devices to
a single streamlined, multifunction laser
platform device is inherently more beneficial
in limited office space environments. Compact
MFP models allow for a better use of space
while accommodating all the tasks previously
performed by four or more machines.
Many small and home offices have
a growing need for similar office equipment
technology as larger organizations, just
in a smaller footprint, said Ian Macfarlane,
Vice President and General Manager of the
Consumer Imaging Group at Canon Canada,
Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon
U.S.A. Inc. The new Color imageCLASS
MF8180C from Canon provides those smaller
operations with the flexibility to choose
the colour output, capacity, and value-added
features they require in a single desktop
device.
The new Color imageCLASS MF8180c colour
device runs at speeds of 20 pages-per-minute
(ppm) for black output and 4 ppm for colour
output (letter). Crisp images and text can
be produced at 2400x600 dpi quality in both
colour and monotone. It comes equipped with
a 250-sheet front-loading paper cassette
plus a 125-sheet multipurpose tray supporting
a variety of media for output flexibility.
Combining the high optical colour scanning
resolution of 1200 x 2400 dots-per-inch
(dpi) with a 48-bit depth that is capable
of recognizing more than 281-trillion possible
colours, customers can complete a variety
of colour scanning tasks easily from either
the platen glass or the automatic document
feeder with high-quality results. The 50-sheet
automatic document feeder (ADF) works for
both copying and scanning of letter and
legal- sized media.
For the added benefit of fax capability,
the Color imageCLASS MF8180c incorporates
a 33.6 Kbps Super G3 fax . A strong list
of fax features, including 12 one-touch
speed dial numbers, 100 coded speed dial
numbers, 256-page memory capacity, PC Faxing,
sequential broadcasting and activity reports,
make this new imageCLASS product ideal for
the customer requiring comprehensive faxing
applications in a compact desktop product.
For optimal speed when printing and scanning,
the device provides a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface.
The imageCLASS MF 8180c also comes standard
with an internal Ethernet port to provide
network printing and network PC faxing.
The manufacturer's suggested list price
of the Color imageCLASS MF8180c is $1250.00*,
and will begin shipping to retailers in
late April 2006.
