“This photo exhibition, initiated by the Institut français and The Consulate General of France in Toronto, in partnership with the NFB Mediatheque and Cinéfranco, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Cinémathèque Afrique and aims at promoting the riches, diversity and talent of African & Caribbean artists.

Through emblematic portraits, two photographers from different generations (Laurent Macarie from Martinique and Samuel Nja Kwa from Cameroon) have highlighted the essential contributions of filmmakers and actors from the 60s to today to their country’s cinema and history.”
